The Essence of Swarna Prashan
1. Source: Suvarna Bhasma is derived from pure gold, typically 24-karat gold, which is known for its high purity. Gold is chosen for its therapeutic properties and long-standing importance in Ayurveda.
2. Purification Process:The preparation of Suvarna Bhasma involves several steps to purify and potentiate gold for therapeutic use. These steps may include detoxification, grinding, trituration (repeated grinding with specific herbal juices or decoctions), and incineration at high temperatures in a controlled environment. This process is performed under strict guidelines to ensure the purity and safety of the final product.
3. Therapeutic Properties: Suvarna Bhasma is believed to have several beneficial properties in Ayurveda, including Rasayana (rejuvenating), Vajikarana (aphrodisiac), and Medhya (brain-nourishing) properties. It is also thought to enhance the immune system and promote overall well-being.
3. Dosage: In Swarna Prashan, a minute quantity of Suvarna Bhasma is used, often measured in milligrams. It is carefully administered to infants and children in a specific dosage, mixed with other herbs, honey, or ghee, according to Ayurvedic guidelines.
Suvarna Bhasma is considered one of the most precious and potent ingredients in Ayurveda due to its believed ability to impart vitality and health benefits. It is important to note that the preparation and use of Suvarna Bhasma should only be undertaken by qualified Ayurvedic practitioners, and its administration should be done with care and precision, especially when given to children as part of Swarna Prashan.
